The Saint-Félicien Wildlife Zoo boasts impressive biodiversity, with approximately 400 animals representing 75 native and exotic species living in a near-natural habitat.     Walking Tour: A wealth of activities to explore

    The tour begins with the walking section, which features 4.5 km of trails. Here, you’ll encounter iconic species such as the polar bear, the red panda, and the Amur tiger. Don’t miss the habitats of the gelada baboon, the Japanese macaque, the Bactrian camel, or the beaver in its lodge.

    Take a break at the Little Farm to pet some farm animals, let the kids cool off in the water play area, and treat yourself to a scoop of ice cream!


    The must-do Boreal Train Ride

    The train ride through the Nature Trails Park is definitely a must-do on every visit to the Saint-Félicien Wildlife Zoo. Take a seat and let yourself be transported for a unique up-close encounter with animals living in semi-freedom! In addition to learning more about Canadian history, you’ll have the chance to encounter giants like the American bison, musk ox, elk, caribou, moose, gray wolf, and black bear, as well as smaller animals like the prairie dog.


    Exploring the Flora at Scullion Garden

    If it’s the flora that piques your curiosity, you’ll find plenty to enjoy at Jardin Scullion, in L’Ascension-de-Notre-Seigneur. Jardin Scullion’s plant collection features over 2,000 plant species from all corners of the globe, all of which are well-suited to the climate of the Lac-Saint-Jean region.

    During your visit to the garden, you’ll also encounter many species of birds, reptiles, and mammals that have made this natural refuge their home. Plus, kids can have fun at the mini-farm and playgrounds.

    And don’t forget to stop by the mural, a 100-meter-long artwork painted to represent the region’s main ecosystems.

    The best way to discover the local flora and fauna is to spend time in nature! This summer, immerse yourself in the boreal forest by taking a trip to the Zec des Passes

    Quebec’s controlled harvesting zones, or ZECs, offer unparalleled access to the province’s wilderness. At ZEC des Passes, accessible from the municipality of Saint-Ludger-de-Milot, outdoor enthusiasts can go hunting, fishing, hiking, and more!

    For a hassle-free stay, the ZEC offers POD-style ready-to-camp accommodations as well as a fully equipped cabin. For the more adventurous, you can pitch your tent at one of the ZEC’s unserviced campsites!

    On-site, rent a fishing boat or canoe to set off on an adventure on one of the area’s many waterways.
