Lac-Saint-Jean is a must-visit tourist destination. Every village you pass through is brimming with local products, friendly people, lush farms, and epic stories. Tony Par\u00e9, owner of Attractions Bor\u00e9ales and an avid motorcyclist, invites you to hop on your bike and set off on a 260-kilometer expedition around the stunning Lac-Saint-Jean.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From west to east<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our tour begins in Saint-F\u00e9licien, home to the famous Zoo sauvage and a perfect stop for wildlife enthusiasts. Continuing on our way, we arrive in Mashteuiatsh, where you\u2019re sure to receive a warm welcome. The Mashteuiatsh Native American Museum awaits you with knowledgeable guides who will tailor their explanations to your interests. If you happen to be in the area in mid-July, you may have the opportunity to attend the Pow-Wow, the Great Gathering of First Nations. Before hitting the road again, stop by Saint-Andr\u00e9-du-Lac-Saint-Jean (also known as\u00a0Saint-Andr\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9pouvante<\/a>) for a picnic by the waterfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hit the road again and drive to Saint-G\u00e9d\u00e9on, a charming village that will instantly make you feel like you\u2019re on vacation. The marina offers a magnificent view where you can enjoy a wide variety of local products. Treat yourself to a craft beer from the Microbrasserie du Lac, a delicious cheese from the Fromagerie chez M\u00e9dard, or fresh bread from their bakery, or indulge in one of the village\u2019s many restaurants. Once you\u2019ve had your fill, continue your drive toward Alma via the countryside and the Route des Quatorze-Arpents. You\u2019ll see vast fields and working farms\u2014a bucolic panorama that will quickly help you unwind. If you prefer an urban atmosphere, Alma is a must-stop where you\u2019ll find all the amenities of a small town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Alma, continue heading east to reach the village of P\u00e9ribonka. This is a very popular stop for motorcyclists. You\u2019ll soon meet fellow enthusiasts who, like you, have set out on the Lac-Saint-Jean tour. Take the opportunity to chat and exchange stories with them; you\u2019ll likely make some wonderful discoveries. The tour of the lake wouldn\u2019t be complete without a stop at the beach. Vauvert Beach offers 7 km of fine sand and a breathtaking view of the majestic Lac-Saint-Jean. You\u2019re sure to be charmed by this picturesque landscape, where it\u2019s a pleasure to stop and relax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heading a little north, you\u2019ll pass through Dolbeau-Mistassini, home to the famous \u201cHalte du Bleuet.\u201d There, you\u2019ll find motorcycle-friendly accommodations and information on local attractions, such as Mahikan Park for wolf watching or the 11th Falls Dam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lake tour ends in Normandin, just before returning to Saint-F\u00e9licien, where you absolutely must stop to stretch your legs. The hiking trails at Chute \u00e0 l\u2019ours reveal the beauty of the boreal forest, a spectacular way to end your getaway.<\/p>\n
