In addition to offering breathtaking views of the mouth of the P\u00e9ribonka River and Lac-Saint-Jean, the Louis-H\u00e9mon Museum offers unique and refreshing museum experiences every year, including the brand-new virtual tour of the Maison Samuel-B\u00e9dard, where the writer stayed in 1912. For thousands of years, it served as a gathering place for most of the Indigenous nations of northeastern North America, who met there every summer to trade and share. The site features, among other things, an archaeological site and a powder magazine, the oldest building in the region. You can also admire works by local artists in temporary exhibitions<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through 3D animations and historical reenactments, discover the origins and functions of various 20th-century industrial artifacts and devices featured along the outdoor trails. The exhibitions presented in the heritage building of the Maison des b\u00e2tisseurs invite you to learn more through the permanent exhibition \u201cBeyond Water\u201d and the temporary exhibitions \u201cFrette or Tablet \u2013 400 Beers in Quebec\u201d and \u201cThrough Krieber\u2019s Eyes,\u201d not to mention that you can walk on a giant map illustrating the vast regional territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A guided tour of the old cheese factory and the\u00a0logis du fromager<\/a>\u00a0will give you a better understanding of its history as well as the traditional techniques used to make cheddar cheese.
