Restrictions and safety guidelines
- Not recommended for pregnant women: There is currently no evidence that exposure to strong magnetic fields is safe for the fetus. For this reason, Rio Tinto and Tourisme Alma Lac-Saint-Jean refuse to take any risks.
- Not permitted for people with pacemakers: Aluminum production requires a significant amount of electricity, and the presence of strong magnetic fields in the plant can interfere with the operation of a pacemaker and even cause it to stop working.
- People with reduced mobility are permitted provided they are able to get on and off the bus a few times and walk short distances. Wheelchairs are not permitted.
- Must be 12 years of age or older.
- Not recommended for people wearing hearing aids
